Emergency Management certificate program trains you to respond swiftly and effectively to a wide range of emergencies: from pandemics to terrorist attacks, to natural and man-made disasters.
Through this program you’ll learn to implement comprehensive disaster plans to:

This emergency management training is beneficial for both current practitioners and those new to the field of emergency management. The program includes both presentation of theory and hands-on assignments to develop specific knowledge and skills. Classes include:
- Taking part in large-scale emergency exercises
- Field trips to emergency responder agencies
- Analyzing emergency situations and developing emergency plans
- Designing emergency exercises
- Problem-based learning and case studies
- Practice dealing with the media, including writing press releases

Individuals with extensive work-related experience will be considered on an individual basis and required to submit a portfolio for assessment.

Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of demonstrated competence through related work and/or educational experience.
Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements for this program will be assessed and advised individually and may be considered for other, related programs.
