The Associate of Arts degree in Visual Communication is designed to educate and develop artistic and imaginative students and to provide them with the career-focused knowledge and skills common to many entry-level visual communication professionals.
Emphasis in this program is placed on the development of the thinking process and the ability to solve design problems creatively. Students can learn the principles, practical applications, and methodologies used in completing competent and creative design solutions.
Overview:
The goal of this Visual Communication program is for students to develop an awareness of the basic elements of visual language, aesthetics sensitivity and the ability to think and act as a designer. They will be challenged to explore methods for evoking intuitive responses through color, shape, texture, rhythm, line and other compositional elements.
Students in this program can acquire the fundamental knowledge necessary for competent designers in commercial fields. Instruction is also given on the basic principles of web design, including how to plan and develop well-designed websites, through the use of HTML, that combine effective navigation techniques with the creative use of graphics, sound, and typography.

The AACTD AA degree program in Visual Communication provides a working knowledge of the fundamentals of the visual communication industry. In this career-focused curriculum, students can learn how to:
